PLAYERS RATINGS: Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle United

A very average match by the Blues Chelsea FC against Newcastle United and Rafael Benitez where the Blues Chelsea FC had a very disappointing first half, where they couldn’t attack and get into the penalty area a lot especially with the bad form of Alvaro Morata.

However, in the second half Eden Hazard scored a penalty after Marcos Alonso won it, and Marcos Alonso’s shot got deflected a couple of centimeters to give the Blues Chelsea FC the winning goal.

Kepa: An average match as well, wasn’t tested a lot. 6.5/10

Azpilicueta: Not enough effort in the attack. 6.5/10

Rudiger: Had a very solid match today. Was close to scoring 7.5/10

Luiz: Not so good today, was very slow and with bad positioning and at fault for the first goal. 5/10

Alonso: Had a shaky match to a point, especially in the defensive side. But won a very important penalty and scored the second goal. 8/10

Kovacic: Was fighting in the midfield and intercepting the balls. 7.5/10

Kante: As usual, doing his best. But was focusing more on going forward rather than defend. 6.5/10

Jorginho: Added an extra layer of defense, a good partnership with Kante and Kovacic. 6.5/10

Hazard: Was dangerous throughout the match. Couldn’t score from open play, but scored a crucial penalty. 8/10

Morata: Was really poor today and bad positioning. Got subbed off in the second half. 5/10

Pedro: Had some quick balls and shots, but failed to score. 6/10

Willian: Added some pace to the attack and caused some problems for Newcastle. 5.5/10

Oliver Giroud: Not much to do. 5/10

Ross Barkley: Came in to secure the score. 5/10

Marucio Sarri (manager): Has to improve the performance as well. Still, the team is suffering to score early and Alvaro Morata didn’t find his best form. 6.5/10

Man of the match: Marcos Alonso deserves it, won a penalty and helped in scoring the second goal. Even though Eden Hazard did tremendous work.
