Arsenal FC have officially announced a new five years contract for a top rated forward in the club after the club reached an agreement with the player.
The contract for the 22 years old player was discussed by Arsenal’s new manager, Unai Emery, and the media expected the announcement and agreement to be announced during this weekend, which has officially happened.
Arsenal have announced today, Saturday, on their official website and social media accounts that they have finally reached an agreement to renew the contract of the Nigerian international forward, Alex Iwobi, to extend his stay for three more years.
Alexi Iwobi’s contract expires by the summer of 2020, where Arsenal renewed his contract until the summer of 2023, which means the Nigerian player signed a five years contract with Arsenal as of this season.
Knowing that Alex Iwobi was on the radar of other European clubs who wanted to sign the young forward such as the Italian clubs, AC Milan and Lazio, but the 22 years old player preferred to stay at the Emirates Stadium instead of leaving London.
Knowing that Alex Iwobi made it to Arsenal’s first team in 2015 and then he was a regular starter for a period of time and was decisive in some matches with Arsenal and with his national team, Nigeria.
Alex Iwobi made 39 appearances for Arsenal FC last season in all competitions and scored three goals and assisted seven other goals.
