Liverpool FC may be closer than ever to the Premier League title after almost three decades of the ongoing title drought where Liverpool didn’t win the Premier League title since the season of 1989-1990.
Liverpool FC will face a fierce competition from other Premier League clubs who will be fighting for the trophy as well such as Manchester United under the Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, who will be managing them or the third season and not meeting the expectations yet, Manchester City under Pep Guardiola who will be looking to continue his title-winning streak in England after his title-winning streak in Germany and Spain, and finally Arsenal who signed five new players this summer transfer windows and changed their manager, Arsene Wenger, to begin a new era where the North London club will be fighting for the Premier League title now.
Other competition may come from Chelsea FC who have recently sacked their former manager, Antonio Conte, and appointed another Italian manager, Mauricio Sarri, from the Italian Serie A giant, Napoli FC, after weeks of negotiations with Napoli regarding his release clause.
Chelsea didn’t sign a lot of players this summer transfer windows, but their current squad can win the Premier League trophy the same way they did it two seasons ago under Antonio Conte.
On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspurs will be a fierce competitor as usual, and Liverpool shouldn’t underestimate them and their ability to win the Premier League title after decades.
However, Liverpool FC fans may rest assured that their team is heading in the right direction to win again the Premier League trophy, and here are the three reasons why Liverpool FC is the main candidate to win the Premier League trophy this season.
1-Best Attacking line
There is no doubt that Liverpool has the best and most consistent attacking force in the Premier League this season lead by the Egyptian superstar, Mohamed Salah, who has won the PFA Player of the season award and won the golden boot after scoring 32 league goals and overcoming Harry Kane in the golden boot race.
Moreover, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firminho alongside Mohamed Salah will be an invincible attacking force for Jurgen Klopp next season where the attacking trio scored 57 goals last season, 2017/2018.
2-New Midfield Signings
Liverpool FC suffered last season from the defensive issues where the issue started from the midfield which lacked the quality to stop the counter attacks especially against the small teams which the Reds, Liverpool FC, lost a lot of points to such as Burnley, West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City and others.
This season Jurgen Klopp tackled the issue and made two bold signings for the midfield where the German manager signed Naby Keita from the Bundesliga club, RB Leipzig, and the French player, Fabinho, from the French Ligue 1 side, A.S. Monaco where the midfielder duo will help to control the midfield in the upcoming season which will give freedom for the attacking players as well to focus on the attack.
Liverpool FC were on the edge of being crowned for the sixth time in their history against Real Madrid at the end of last season, but the two crucial mistakes from Liverpool FC’s goalkeeper, Loris Karius, cost him and his teammates and fans the trophy to Real Madrid after giving away the first ball in a very silly way to Real Madrid’s striker, Karim Benzima, and failing to block Gareth Bale’s shot.
However, this season everything is going to change as Liverpool FC splashed the cash and signed the Brazilian international goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, from the Italian Serie A side, A.S. Roma, for a historical record transfer fee estimated to be 73million Euros.
This signing will solve the goalkeeper position issue Liverpool suffered from in the previous seasons under Simon Mingolet and Loris Karius.
